Introduction

Ernie Geigenmiller brings a unique perspective to his campaign for the Camas School Board District 1. As a parent, unbiased journalist, business owner, youth sports coach, scout leader and a tutor in the Camas schools, he has had the opportunity to produce over 1,000 videos and thousands of articles documenting the struggles, triumphs, confluences and events in our community. Since arriving in Camas in 2001, he has developed relationships with thousands of Camas residents: adults and students alike, continuing to foster those relationships as many of our youth have become adults themselves. As he built his media company, he has kept his focus on creating a space where people that have differing opinions can come together for commentary and to build community. That shared history of being a voice, and creating a voice will help him be your voice for the future of our schools and our community.

Experience

Ernie will bring to the School Board years of business leadership and a shared community history. Ernie has great experience in crisis management through his years as a journalist. His 14 years of coaching youth soccer and Little League baseball, being a scout leader, and many other years of volunteering in our community give him a depth of community relationships that are unparalleled. His personal efforts brought about legislative proclamations in both Utah and Georgia, designating April as a Month of Kindness. This also happened in the cities of Camas and Washougal. This was modeled after a school shooting inspired him to write about random acts of kindness for the month of March in his publication, Lacamas Magazine. Ernie is committed to his professional integrity by intending to hire someone else to cover school board meetings and events if he is elected to avoid any conflict of interest.
